When we were approached by our wonderful digital agency to contribute to their fantastic charity colouring book, we were honoured to get involved.

When you’ve got a lot of time on your hands, like many of us had during the pandemic lockdown, sometimes there’s nothing better than doing something creative! Local illustrator Sabina Gran teamed up with our digital partner PLOTT Creative to create a fantastic colouring book to raise funds for NHS workers.

Raising vital funds for the NHS

Inspired by the drawings people are putting in their windows in support of the NHS, Sabina created a series of hand-drawn colouring-in boards which she originally uploaded to her social media accounts for people to download.

Overwhelmed by the response – including messages from NHS staff and their patients – Sabina teamed up with PLOTT Creative MD Anna Plotnek to create a book of images including the Her Majesty the Queen, Colonel Tom Moore and Joe Wicks, with four dedicated to the NHS. Lockdown Legends was born!

Anna reached out to her network for companies willing to help support Lockdown Legends in any way they could. And G Comms were more than happy to contribute to the printing and distributions costs for such a fantastic project. It’s the least we could do!

When we saw the Lockdown Legends colouring book, we fell in love with the project. How could we not jump at the chance to get involved with something like this! And for such a good cause. I bought several myself to give to my staff, and they love the colouring book as much as I do.

Every penny raised from the sale of the Lockdown Legends colouring-in book will go to University Hospitals Birmingham Charity’s NHS ‘Superheroes Fund’, which provides support for frontline workers at the Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope hospitals, along with the new temporary Nightingale hospital. Cash raised funds snacks and treats for staff, overnight packs for those staying away from home and tablets so patients can video call their families from their hospital beds.

The book costs £12.95 and is available to buy via PLOTT or through the Hospital Charity website.
